OUTREACH

ArCPIG is currently participating to the following outreach activities for the wider public:

European Commission Open Doors Day

Saturday, 28 May 2016

ArCPIG will be participating to the European Institutions Open Doors Day to celebrate Europe Day!

The interactive workshop will demonstrate how archaelogical questions are unveiled and answered - with a little help from science! We invite children and their parents to get their hands dirty (literally!) and help us excavate archaeological artifacts, examine them using scientific techniques and piece together the clues to tell the story of our ancient protagonists.

You can play the game anytime here:

VUB Campus visits 2015-2016

(VUB Campusbezoek 2015-2016)

ArCPIG organises a series of hands-on workshops for high-school students entitled 'From Indiana Jones to the lab' ('Van Indiana Jones tot labotechnieken').

Students are introduced to several aspects of the archaeological science methodology:

- handle, clean and register real specimens in the VUB storage facilities

- examine archaeological samples under the microscope

- use analytical instruments to investigate the composition of their own 'samples'
